How to Set Up Amazon Carriers
Customers have the ability to purchase labels through Amazon's Buy Shipping API. This shipping method is only available for Amazon orders if your Amazon store is connected to ShipHero at the time of label purchase. It behaves similarly to the "Cheapest" carrier in that the number of days is defined in the shipping method (Amazon 1, Amazon 2, Amazon 99).
Amazon Prime
For Amazon Prime, orders are automatically set to the appropriate shipping method and do not follow the shipping method map. ShipHero will send the Amazon order number to Amazon and Amazon will return available shipping options for the order based on the delivery date and the "Eligible Carriers" defined in the Amazon Store Settings. Amazon will only provide shipping methods they deem acceptable for the delivery date, including Prime guaranteed dates. ShipHero will select the cheapest shipping method provided by Amazon. The label will be purchased through Amazon, under the shipping accounts connected. It is not related to or affected by the shipping carriers connected to ShipHero in the shipping carriers page.
Configuring the Amazon Buy Shipping API
ShipHero must be given permission in order to ship with your Amazon Buy Shipping API, such as with Seller Fulfilled Prime. Instructions to accept these terms can be found on Seller Central.
Take the following steps to review and accept the terms and conditions:
- In your seller account, go to Manage Shipping Services.
- Read Amazon's terms and conditions for this service and the terms and conditions of each carrier.
- Click the I agree checkboxes to accept them.
- Click Submit.
Note: If you don't agree to the terms and conditions for a particular carrier, its shipping services won't be available to you.
Orders must be set to the "Amazon" carrier to use the Buy Shipping API. After the store is connected, in the Store Settings there is an Eligible Carriers tab to configure which carriers should be allowed with the Buy Shipping API. The carriers connected to Amazon are entirely unrelated to carriers connected to ShipHero. You can configure your account in Amazon to identify whether to use Amazon's negotiated rates with a carrier, or your own rates. Prime orders will automatically be set to Amazon carrier by default.
Shiphero
In ShipHero under the Amazon store settings (My Account > Stores > Settings), you will see a tab that says "Carriers". Click on this and add the carriers he uses in Amazon.
Next, your customer will need to go into his Amazon Seller Central account and accept the Terms and Conditions for the carriers he wants to use.
Once that is done, he can go into ShipHero and complete his Amazon Carrier Mapping (Shipping > Methods). Under each method he will map to Amazon as the carrier and the method to the number of days the package needs to be delivered (1, 2, or 99 for any).
