International Shipping: What about customs fees and VATs

When shipping internationally, duty (or customs tariffs) is set by the destination country's customs authorities and is determined based on a combination of the country of origin or manufacturing of the goods being purchased and the classification of that merchandise.

Value Added Tax (VAT) rates are set by the destination country. Below is a list of estimated % of VAT and Duties according to country listed.

Who is responsible for paying customs duties and taxes?

It varies from site to site but in general, most eCommerce companies set a policy that the recipient of the order will be responsible for any and all costs associated with import taxes, customs duties, or fees levied by the destination country.
